A lake of glacial origin with a peculiarity: it is connected to another body of water, Lake Toblino, by a short channel, which allows the operation of a hydroelectric plant.
Santa Massenza is a living example of the term "change": few other lakes in Trentino have undergone the physical, environmental and biological transformations that this stretch of water in the eponymous fraction of the Municipality of Vezzano has undergone since the time of glacial erosion. It is connected to Lake Toblino by a channel over which the Gardesana national road passes. This synergy allows the operation of the local hydroelectric power plant. The usefulness of the system is made even more valuable by the panorama offered by the two lakes and the great variety of fish that they keep, including eels, carps, carp, perches, trout and many other species of lake fish. Finally, the Santa Massenza basin is also a capital of schnapps, as well as an area of olive trees and vines, broccoli and black truffles.
STRENGTH
The mild climate of the Santa Massenza basin is ideal for the production of Holy Wine and Grappa.
