Der Kreuzberg, der früher Aschberg genannt wurde, ist nach der Wasserkuppe und der Dammersfeldkuppe der dritthöchste Berg der Rhön. Berühmt ist er vor allem für das hier befindliche Kloster Kreuzberg.
Aufgrund seiner Höhe und jährlich ca. einer halben Million Besuchern ist der Kreuzberg das höchstgelegene und meistbesuchte Ausflugsziel im bayerischen Teil der Rhön.
