Der Kienberg (800 m über NN), der Hausberg von Freudenstadt, ist ein autofreies Wander- und Erholungsgebiet und seit 2008 auch Skulpturenpark. Der Deutsche Wetterdienst hat auf dem Berg Wettertafeln aufgestellt. Entspannen Sie auf der Liegewiese oder regen Sie Ihren Kreislauf bei einem Gang durch das Wassertretbecken an.
Der Aufstieg auf den 25 m hohen Herzog-Friedrich-Turm ist absolut empfehlenswert, bietet sich doch von oben ein herrlicher Panoramablick nach Freudenstadt, in Richtung Schwäbische Alb sowie auf die ausgedehnten Wälder und Bergrücken des Schwarzwaldes (Mai-Oktober geöffnet).
Beeindruckend für Hobbygärtner: Deutschlands höchstgelegener Rosenweg mit über 1000 Wildrosen und historischen Strauchrosen (Blütezeit Mitte Juni bis Mitte Juli). Lassen Sie sich von der Vielfalt und Schönheit der Rosen verzaubern und genießen Sie den herrlichen Blick über Freudenstadt und die weiten Wälder des nördlichen Schwarzwalds.
