Die Hohe Salve ist Teil der Kitzbüheler Alpen und 1829 m hoch. Bei entsprechendem Wetter genießen wir einen herrlichen Panoramablick auf die Hohen Tauern, die Zillertaler Alpen und auf den Wilden Kaiser - das Auge fasst 70 Gipfel über 3000 m. Der Gipfel der Hohen Salve besteht aus Dolomit und sitzt auf einem Schiefersockel, was dem Berg die charakteristische Glockenform verliehen hat. Direkt am Berggipfel befinden sich u.a. der Gasthof Hohe Salve, der Sonnenrundweg mit verschiedenen Sonnenuhren-Stationen, eine Windharfe, das Gesicht eines Riesen zum Klettern für Kinder und ein Streichelzoo. Auch das bekannte Salvenkirchlein steht hier. Das Gipfelkreuz befindet sich dagegen etwas unterhalb des Gipfels direkt am Panoramaweg, der um die Gipfelkuppe der Hohen Salve führt.

Neben mehreren Wanderwegen führen auch zwei Gondelbahnen bis auf den Gipfel, die Salvenbahn von Hopfgarten und die Gondelbahn Hohe Salve bzw. Hochsöll von Söll.
