Der Gabler ist 3263 m hoch und liegt in den östlichen Zillertaler Alpen.
Der Berg, der eher zwischen Zillertaler Alpen und Venedigergruppe liegt, zählt zur Reichenspitzgruppe mit Reichen-, Richter- und Wildgerlosspitze als Nachbarn. Eine Skitour auf den Gabler ist im Frühjahr recht beliebt. Los geht es dabei am Gerlospass, nördlich vom Gipfel gelegen, teilweise wird auch erst am Gasthaus Finkau gestartet. Über die Trissl-Alm geht es ins Wildgerlostal und zur Zittauer Hütte. Weiter bis zur sogenannten Glatze und zum Skidepot, wo weniger erfahrene Bergsteiger die Tour beenden sollten, denn der restliche Aufstieg zum Gipfel ist nicht ohne.
