Čavljak pruža izvanredne mogućnosti za šetnju, planinarenje, vožnju bicikla, održivo sakupljanje šumskih plodova i ljekovitih biljaka, degustaciju domaćih proizvoda i mnoge druge. Osim toga sa Čavljaka možete uživati u prekrasanom pogledu na Sarajevo.

Sjeveroistično od samog centra grada Sarajeva nalaze se poznata izletišta Barice i Čavljak. Samo 4 km od Barica asfaltiranom cestom dolazi se do, jednog od tri planinarska doma, planinarski dom "Čavljak" kojim upravlja PSD Džemal Bijedić. Od Čavljaka se pružaju uređene planinarske staze prema vrhovima Bukovik i Crepoljsko, te vodopadu Skakavac.

Do Barica i Čavljaka vikendom i praznicima vozi minibus gradskog saobraćaja broj 64. Red vožnje dostupan na ovom linku.
