Der Butterberg ist der Hausberg der Stadt Bischofswerda. Auf dem Gipfel des 384 m hohen Butterbergs umringt von Kieferwäldern befindet sich ein 21 Meter hoher Aussichtsturm mit tollem Blick auf das Oberlausitzer Bergland. Über den Butterberg und um ihn herum verlaufen schöne Wanderwege. Er ist darüberhinaus eine der Premiumstationen der Naturerlebnisroute der Westlausitz. Auf dem Butterberg befindet sich ein Berggasthof, der überregional bekannt und beliebt ist.
