St. Anna Square is the cultural centre of the Lehel and with its many cafés and restaurants under the chestnut trees attracts all those who simply want to take a breath

A lot of life takes place at St. Anna Square in the middle of the Lehel, one of the most beautiful and at the same time the smallest district of Munich. In the heart of Munich, the small oasis with the St. Anna Franciscan monastery, along with the parish and monastery church, is a captivating sight. Between the imposing buildings, chestnut trees radiate a coziness and tranquility, and you can enjoy a well-deserved break in the numerous cafés and restaurants. All this makes anyone who sets foot on the small area think: "Samma us ehrlich, 's Lem is doch herrlich!" ("Let's be honest, life is simply wonderful")

Every Thursday from 10am to 6pm there is a farmers' market where regional producers sell their produce.
