Schustergasse is a reminder of a long-extinct profession, the clog maker.
Schustergasse is also a reminder of a profession that has long since died out in Neuburg. There used to be a cobbler's workshop in what is now house number 2.
Wooden shoemaking is a craft in its own right, independent of the production of leather shoes. It was practised in almost every house to cover their own needs. A few professional clog makers made clogs as a sideline.
