The optics course runs through the city and invites experimentation and exploration. At the stations, for example, you can try out a walk-in kaleidoscope or a large diamond made of optical glass that sparkles as it reflects the light. – At various locations in the city, a special aspect of optics can be experienced. This creates a tension arc from objective to subjective perception. The station of the "Colored Shadows" ultimately combines these two aspects.
Perspective Shift Wetzlar – Experience Optics: Strolling through the city while experiencing phenomena of optics – that's what visitors can do on the optics course in Wetzlar. Experimentation enthusiasts can discover, for example, a large diamond made of optical glass that sparkles as it reflects light, and with the walk-in kaleidoscope, visitors are mirrored into infinity.
At each location, a specific aspect of optics can be experienced. A tension arc is drawn from objective to subjective perception. At all stations, experimentation is encouraged.
But why an optics course in Wetzlar? This technology has a long tradition in the city, dating back to the 19th century. Oskar Barnack developed the first 35mm camera here. Today, there are more optics companies in the region than ever before.
For this reason, some historical stations have also been included in the tour, as well as tips for particularly beautiful photo motifs, compiled by the Photo Friends Wetzlar e.V. At these locations, visitors to Wetzlar can design their photo motifs from a different viewpoint, from another perspective.
