The Hat Maker's Fountain and the Protestant Town Church are worth seeing.
Since 1984, there has been a carillon on the facade of the town hall above the main entrance. The 18 bronze bells of the automatically played carillon are perfectly tuned to one another. The main piece of the melodies repertoire is Fritz Wunderlich's "Mein Kusel in der Pfalz". The song is played every day at 12:20 PM.
The Hutmacherbrunnen (Hat Maker's Fountain) is a reminder of an old Kusel craft tradition and was erected in 1925. The pedestal of the fountain has the following inscription:
“Eich sein von Kusel/Mei Vatter is e Hutmacher/Mei Mutter raacht e erdene Gips/Mir sein nit stolz.”
The Hutmacherfest (Hat Maker Festival) or Altstadtfest (Old Town Festival), celebrated every June in Kusel, also commemorates this tradition.
The Evangelical Town Church in the Kusel marketplace is one of the largest evangelical churches in the classicism style in the Palatinate. It was built between 1829 and 1831 under the architect Beyschlag. The reason for the construction of the church was the Palatine Church Union, the merger of the Lutheran and Reformed churches in 1818.
