The centre of the action in Kranjska Gora, where it happens all year round.
There used to be a lot of talking in the Square on Gorica or in the Square in front of the church in Kranjska Gora, where locals would gather and talk. This is where the "gossip" spread. From this word the derivative "Gorica" was created.
Today's Square on Gorica is the centre of the action, where various events take place. Visitors can also enjoy a wide range of stalls.
During the Christmas season, the square transforms into a small Christmas market - an Alpine village with authentic Alpine houses.

The nearest train station is in Jesenice, from where buses take you to Kranjska Gora, 20 km away, in half an hour. There are also train stations in Tarvisio, Italy, and Villach, Austria. From there, you can continue your journey by taxi, as none of the stops is more than 20 km away.

From Slovenia, Kranjska Gora can be reached via the Ljubljana-Kranj-Jesenice-Kranjska Gora road, from Austria via the Korensko sedlo border crossing in Villach or the Karavanke tunnel, and from Italy via the Rateče border crossing.
