Der Ticino ist ein Fluss im Tessin und hat sein Quellgebiet unterhalb vom Nufenenpass.

Er entspringt im Schweizer Val Bedretto an der Grenze zwischen den Kantonen Wallis und Tessin, wird von den Gletschern der Alpen gespeist und fließt später durch den Lago Maggiore, bevor er nach Italien fließt. Er mündet nach 248 Kilometer bei Pavia in den Po. Der höchste Punkt des Einzugsgebiets ist der Gipfel des Grenzgipfel (ein Teil des Monte Rosa) mit 4.618 Metern. Darunter fließt die Anza, ein rechtzeitiger Nebenfluss des Ticino.
