The source of the Kinzig near Lossburg

Auf 680 m ü.M., mitten im Lossburger Zauberland, entspringt die Kinzig und ist zu Beginn kaum einen Meter breit. Nach 112 km mündet sie bei Kehl in den Rhein. Kurz nach der Quelle wird ein Teil des kostbaren Nass in den Mühlgraben umgeleitet und fließt mit geringem Gefälle Lossburg zu. Das Restwasser der Kinzig bringt Urlaubsfreuden am Kinzigsee und im Zauberland. Seit 1934 füllt das kühle Wasser das Freibad. Quellen links und rechts an den Hängen sorgen dafür, dass die Kinzig immer breiter wird und in der Vergangenheit zum Flößen genutzt werden konnte. Faszinierende Einblicke in die Zeit der Flößerei erhalten Sie auf dem Flößerpfad, der in Richtung Alpirsbach und in weiteren Etappen bis nach Wolfach führt.
