Der Fluss Dreisam ist Namensgeber für das Dreisamtal im Südschwarzwald. Sein Lauf beginnt am Zusammenfluss von Rotbach und Wagensteigbach nahe der Brücke der Landesstraße 127 von Kirchzarten nach Stegen. In Freiburg speist er den „Gewerbekanal“ sowie die Freiburger Bächle.
