Aus Leidenschaft zum Wein ist unser Weingut entstanden. Aus Lust am Leben und dem Geschmack des Guten entstehen jedes Jahr die WeineChardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Traminer, Rosé, Zweigelt, Blaufränkisch, Pinot Noir und Virunum Cuvée.
Schon vor mehr als 2000 Jahren wurde in Kärnten Wein angebaut. Ortsnamen, wie Weindorf, Weingarten oder Weinleiten sind heute ein Beweis für den damaligen Stellenwert des Weins. Für die Kelten und vor allem für die Römer aus der antiken Hauptstadt der Provinz Noricum namens Virunum war Wein ein unverzichtbarer Genuss. Und daher auch der Name unseres Weingutes Vinum Virunum, das am Fuße vom Magdalensberg gelegen ist und an die Tradition des Weinmachens im alten römischen Kaiserreich anknüpft.
Um das Jahr 1000 verlor der Weinanbau in Kärnten durch klimatische Veränderungen an Bedeutung. Seit 1972 geht es stetig bergauf und die letzten 5 Jahre erlebt die Weinwirtschaft in Kärnten eine wahre Renaissance.
