Hoch über der Stadt wurde die Burg im 11. Jahrhundert errichtet. Als Anlage aus drei einzelnen, völlig voneinander getrennten Burgen befindet sie sich an strategisch günstiger Stelle mit weitem Blick in das Neckartal. Funde aus der Burg sind im Museum der Stadt Eberbach ausgestellt.
