A very beautiful resting place, in the middle of the Palatinate Forest, with a Ritterstein (knight's stone) erected in memory of the district forester Hahnus.
"At this beautiful forest site, district forester Hahnus von Iggelbach had built a shooting range for the amusement of the greencoats from the surrounding area between 1859 and 1865. K. A. von Ritter, the then chief forester and spiritual father of the Ritter stones in the Palatinate Forest, is also said to have often taken part in shooting practice here. In the vernacular, this place was ironically called Treffnix."

The Treffnix is accessible year-round from Elmstein - Kuckucksbahnhof, via the markings from the Kuckucksbähnelweg or through the hiking markings from the Palatinate Forest Association - blue bar or yellow/white bar.

Directions
By public transport: The - take the S-Bahn to Lambrecht (Pfalz) and then continue with bus line 517 to Elmstein or Iggelbach.
Arrival by car:
Coming from Neustadt an der Weinstraße (A65): Take the exit Neustadt/Weinstr. North, then follow the B39 to Lambrecht (Pfalz). Behind Lambrecht (Pfalz), turn left into the Elmsteiner Valley (Frankeneck). Stay on the L499 until Elmstein. Parking is available on Bahnhofstraße at Triftplatz or at Kuckucksbahnhof.
Coming from Kaiserslautern (A6): Take the exit Enkenbach-Alsenborn, then head towards Fischbach/Bad Dürkheim. Follow the B48 to the junction to Bad Dürkheim. Continue on the B37 towards Bad Dürkheim / Neustadt a. d. Weinstr., in Frankenstein follow B39 until shortly before Lambrecht (Pfalz). Then turn right towards Frankeneck (Elmsteiner Tal). Stay on the L499 until Elmstein. Parking is available on Bahnhofstraße at Triftplatz or at Kuckucksbahnhof.
