The rest area made of pure "Nock gold" opens up magnificent views.
One of Carinthia's four holy mountains, the Lorenziberg, towers high above the town of St. Veit. Right next to the church, which can be seen from afar, artist Jochen Traar has created the "Nock-Gold" rest area. The precious larch wood from the nearby Nock Mountains was shaped into two massive benches with the words "Weite" (expanse) and "Freunde" (friends) to allude to historical and social contexts. The interesting blend of traditional woodwork and contemporary design language impresses with its clear and purist execution and invites hikers to take a break and let their gaze wander over the old ducal town of St. Veit.
