D’un style architectural surprenant, il a été conçu par l’architecte danois Viggo Dorph Petersen à la fin du XIX ème siècle, qui a signé la réalisation de quelques unes des plus belles demeures bourgeoises de la fin du XIX ème siècle en Roussillon. Le temple fut inauguré le 4 Mars 1906.
