Mesa Gialos is the old port of Fira, that is still used by small tourist boats that tour around the Caldera.
Mesa Gialos is the old port of Fira and it is connected to Fira via an impressively wide paved trail, indicative of the number of loaded mules that would lift the loads of civilization from the haven to the citadels of Santorini. Nowadays the mules along with their muleteers await the lazy hikers who don't feel like walking up or down the trail and a cable-car awaits the more sophisticated ones.
