Ein herrlicher See inmitten wunderschöner Natur, gelegen an den Qualitätswanderwegen Vogtland Panorama Weg und Höhensteig Klingenthal

Ein wunderbarer, idyllischer Ort zum Verweilen ist der Untere Floßteich bei Mühlleithen im Vogtland. Seinen Namen bekam er durch die Scheitholzfößerei. Von 1632 bis 1872 wurde hier Holz bis nach Leipzig oder Halle geflößt. Nach der Schneeschmelze bieteten die Floßteiche zusätzliche Wasserzufuhr. Floßknechte sorgten für den ungehinderten Holztransport. Im Sommer wurde das Holz gestapelt und erreichte oft erst nach drei Frühjahren den Zielort. 1984 - 1986 erfolgte die Rekonstruktion des Grabens zur Erschlißeung von Trinkwasserreserven.
