The "Helmbachweiher" hikers' car park is located on the K18 - coming from Elmstein (L499) - towards Lambrecht (Pfalz) - then turn off Helmbachweiher onto the K51.

The Helmbachweiher hikers' car park offers various options. Either you dare to take a cool plunge into the cold water on hot days. Because then the Helmbachweiher is just the right place to cool off, or you can take a nice hiking tour. Not far away is the Kohlbachtal Nature Friends House, the Hornesselwiese Forest Tavern or the Stilles Tal Inn.

Directions

Arrival by car:

Coming from Neustadt an der Weinstraße (A65): Exit Neustadt/Weinstr. Nord, then follow the B39 to Lambrecht (Pfalz). After Lambrecht (Pfalz) turn left into Elmsteiner Tal (Frankeneck). Stay on the L499 until shortly before Helmbach. There we turn left towards Hornesselwiese/Helmbachweiher (K51). We follow the K51 to the Helmbachweiher hikers' car park.

Coming from Kaiserslautern (A6): Take the Enkenbach-Alsenborn exit, then follow the signs to Fischbach/Bad Dürkheim. Follow the B48 until the turn-off to Bad Dürkheim. Then continue on the B37 in the direction of Bad Dürkheim / Neustadt a. d. Weinstr., in Frankenstein follow the B39 until shortly before Lambrecht (Palatinate). Then turn right towards Frankeneck (Elmsteiner Tal). Stay on the L499 until shortly before Helmbach. There we turn left towards Hornesselwiese/Helmbachweiher (K51). We follow the K51 to the Helmbachweiher hikers' car park.
