TICINELLO PARK

It is both a public park and an agricultural area: 88 hectares ideal for walks and bike rides.

Among irrigation ditches (particularly the Cavo del Ticinello and the Roggia Scarpogna); rows of poplar trees, which border fields and allow ideal habitat for birds (tits, woodpeckers, blackcaps, finches, sparrows, swallows, owls), butterflies, dragonflies, hares, hedgehogs, wild rabbits, frogs, toads and tree frogs.

Among meadows with marcite, that ingenious method of water distribution that the Cistercian monks perfected to allow for fresh grass even in winter.

Truly striking is the spectacle of fireflies illuminating the late spring nights.

At the intent of the Park is Cascina Campazzo, a farm that-aside from growing forage and raising 130 dairy cows-is also home to the association that promotes Ticinello Park, through educational and recreational initiatives.
