Sarviniemi is located on the Second Salpausselkä, on the western shore of Rastinvirta. The terminal moraine formation, the narrow tip of the peninsula and the sandy beaches fascinate visitors. When the wind blows from the lake, you can go to a more sheltered campfire site on the other side of the peninsula. Or, if you want to feel the power of a gust of wind, come to the tip of the Suuri Sarviniemi peninsula in windy weather! Sarviniemi has a long history: in the vicinity, there are traces of a prehistoric settlement and a customs building from the Russian era, and many people still remember the former Suur-Saimaan Lomakylä resort. The recreational area is also suitable for the disabled. There is an accessible toilet at Sarviniemi.
Overnight stays are not allowed. Sarviniemi is a day trip destination.
Rastinvirta, which is a water area between Sarviniemi and Kyläniemi, has strong currents. It is dangerous in winter, so you must not cross it on the ice of the lake.
