Arriving in the center of Hamina:The distance from Helsinki to Hamina is 140 kilometers, and the distance from the Russian border about 40 kilometers. The drive to Hamina via the E18 motorway is well under an hour and a half from the Helsinki metropolitan area. From Lappeenranta on the Saimaa coast, it takes only about an hour.
By bus: You can get to Hamina directly from Helsinki. It is also possible to arrive in Hamina from Helsinki by changing buses in Kotka. The bus stop in Hamina is near the center, next to the library.
By train: You can get to Hamina by train via the Kouvola or Kotka railway stations.
The nearest airports are the Lappeenranta (LPR) and the Helsinki-Vantaa (HEL) airports.

The distance to Tervasaari from the Hamina Town Square is only about 1300m - it is approximately a 15 minute walk. You can also rent a Kaakau-city bike from multiple locations to get to Tervasaari. There is free parking in the Tervasaari area.
