Outside the inner spa park, the grounds extend as a mountain spa park to the forest.
This area of around 40 hectares is designed as a landscape park and is extensively managed. The tree stands have a more woodland character, while the open areas are meadows. This mountain spa park is a good link as a biotope network between the protected areas in the Emmer floodplains and the forest. The wooded areas offer retreats for many different animals, such as deer and badgers as well as numerous birds. The meadows are maintained as hay meadows or grazing meadows for sheep. The Ewilpa Bad Pyrmont was created in the historic Bergkurpark in 2019/2020. Over 300 edible trees and shrubs were planted and countless wild shrubs and herbs were sown. An approximately three-kilometre-long public themed trail leads you to a total of 13 different stations in the park.
