With its green spaces and shady chestnut trees, the cathedral platform invites you to picnic, play and relax
Young and old meet on the cathedral's historic platform, affectionately known as the "Pläfe" by Bernese locals: families with children picnic, older men play boules, teenagers laugh at the ping-pong tables, couples enjoy the breathtaking view over the green-blue Aare to the high mountain peaks of the Alps. Thanks to the large chestnut trees and the many benches, there is always a cozy spot to sit, even at the height of summer.

The cathedral platform is located in the heart of the lower Old Town and is easy to reach by public transport (streetcar lines 6 / 7 / 8, bus lines 12 / 19, Zytglogge stop).
