Between prehistory and lunar suggestions, the Marocche di Dro biotope is an incredibly original place. Walk the trail and discover traces of life that are 190 million years old.
The "sci-fi" landscape of the Marocche di Dro biotope tells the visitor the history of the glaciers that over the millennia have shaped one of the most original places in the valley. Walking through these stony hills, bypassing the huge blocks of rock – the "Marocche", in fact, a dialectal term that recalls the Paleo-European word mar, or "stone" – you will have the feeling of moving in a lunar context. Site of Community Interest (sic), the Moroccan Islands, which constitute a Nature Reserve, are crossed by a path dotted with stopping points. Along the route, curated by the Tridentino Museum of Natural Sciences, you can admire the footprints of dinosaurs dating back to 190 million years ago.
