Hydalen is a protected landscape area, surrounded by steep mountain sides, and old stilts, some of which are still in operation. Here you can go hiking and cycling in quiet surroundings.
You can see beautiful Hydalen from Hydalshjallen, which is one of our popular summer destinations. You can spend the night in a tent in Hydalen, but bear in mind that animals roam freely here, so you may meet heifers and sheep at the tent. There are great fishing lakes in Hydalen, these are private waters - if you want to fish, you pay in a fishing card machine by the water.
Hydalen is privately owned and protected as a landscape conservation area. Special rules for traffic must be observed in order to take care of nature here. Read the information posters in the area for more information about this.
