Ein kurzer Abstecher führt in Velden zum nur zu Fuß „bezwingbaren“ Teufelsgraben. Der Einstieg in den 1,5 Kilometer Wanderweg befindet sich gegenüber des Hauses Kranzlhofenstraße 16 und ist das Tor zu einer anderen Welt: Mit so viel Natur pur rechnet in der Nähe des pulsierenden Ortszentrums niemand. Die Strecke entlang des Damtschacherbaches ist eine coole Abwechslung – vor allem im Sommer. Sie wurde 1885 als erster „Promenadenweg“ in Velden angelegt und ist heute ein Slow Trail mit Stationen für Yoga-Übungen.
Seinen Namen hat der Teufelsgraben (der lustigerweise den Engelweg kreuzt) von einer Sage. Sie handelt von einer Bäuerin, die ihre Seele dem Teufel verschrieben hatte, um reich zu werden. Als er die Frau schließlich holen wollte, versteckte sie sich vor ihm in der Kirche von Kranzlhofen. Daraufhin soll der wütende Teufel seine Krallen ausgefahren und die Schlucht ins Gelände gerissen haben.
