Plan d'eau - Réserve naturelle

The Reichshoffen water body was put into water in 1982. About ten years later, it was classified as a Voluntary Nature Reserve after its colonization by a diversified aquatic fauna. In 2014, it was awarded the label Regional Nature Reserve. It is a public safety structure for the regulation of the Schwarzbach river and thus prevent flooding in the old town. Its water surface covers almost 16 hectares. Today it is a popular hiking area with its 2.4 km circuit and the health trail. Apart from fishing on its front part, any other activity is strictly forbidden: hunting, swimming, canoeing, camping.

An ornithological observatory is also available to lovers of fauna and flora.
