The Affensteine are an extensive group of rocks in the Elbe Sandstone Mountains, east of the Kirnitzsch Valley between the Lichtenhain Waterfall and the Schrammsteine.
The area consists of sandstone reefs, towers and jagged walls that rise up to 80 meters high. It is primarily known as a climbing and hiking area with numerous peaks and paths. Typical features include narrow gorges, rocky ledges with great views and striking individual peaks. From the Affensteinen, there are sweeping views of the Kirnitzschtal valley and the rocky world of the Schrammsteine.
