Jahrtausendealte wilde Steingebilde aus Riffkalkstein.

Im Naturreservat Folhammar auf Gotland stehen die markanten Felsskulpturen, die das Meer zutage gefördert haben.

Die Felsen bestehen aus hartem Riffkalkstein, der erosionsresitenter ist als die weichen Gesteinsarten, die sich vor Urzeiten um die Raukar herum befunden haben.

Das Meer spülte die weichen Schichten weg und zurück blieben die markanten Felsformationen.

Auf Gotland gibt es weitere Raukarfelder, die bis zu 5-Meter-hohr Säulen enthalten. In Folhammar sind die Raukar nicht ganz so hoch, doch nicht weniger faszinierend.
