Egelsee Scharfling

Dort wo das Gebirge vom Mondseeufer zurücktritt, liegt eine kleine Bucht, die ein Verlandungsmoor bzw. Feuchtwiesen mit dem Egelsee aufweist. Ein am Hangfuß entspringende Bach der mäandrierend (sehr gewunden) die Fläche durchfließt. Erwähnenswert ist, dass sich die Feuchtflächen auf die Bundesländer Salzburg und Oberösterreich aufteilen.

Flora: Die Niedermoorflächen sind Streuwiesen von unterschiedlichem Charakter die mit Pfeifengras, Seggen, Fettkraut, Wollgras, Orchideen, Torfmoosen besetzt sind.

Fauna: Feuchtflächen sind ein beliebter Tummelplatz für Ampibien, Schmetterlinge und Libellen
