Lovis Corinth hielt sich von 1918 bis 1925 in seinem Haus am Walchensee, im Ortsteil Urfeld auf. Dort schuf er die Walchensee-Bilder, die noch zu seinen Lebzeiten heiß begehrte Sammlerobjekte wurden.
Eine der bedeutendsten grafischen Sammlungen von Lovis Corinth in Deutschland wird im Walchensee-Museum in Urfeld gezeigt.
