Geschichte erleben zwischen mittelalterlichem Turm und moderner Architektur – im Stadtmuseum Aarau wird Vergangenheit lebendig.

Im Stadtmuseum Aarau wird Vergangenheit greifbar und Gegenwart erlebbar. Der mittelalterliche Turm und der moderne Erweiterungsbau schaffen ein architektonisches Ensemble, das Tradition und Innovation verbindet.

Ausstellungen
Die Dauerausstellungen 100 × Aarau und Blicke auf Aarau erzählen Geschichten aus sieben Jahrhunderten Stadtleben. Wechselausstellungen wie New Realities greifen aktuelle Themen auf und schaffen Bezüge zur Gegenwart.

Foyer & Begegnung
Das lichtdurchflutete Foyer bietet Raum für Begegnungen, Kaffee oder Apéro. Eine grosse Spielecke lädt Kinder zum Entdecken ein, das Museumscafé zum Verweilen oder Picknicken.

Für Schulen & Gruppen
Führungen, Workshops und interaktive Angebote machen Geschichte für Gruppen und Schulklassen lebendig.

Das Stadtmuseum Aarau liegt zentral in der Altstadt, nur wenige Gehminuten vom Bahnhof Aarau entfernt. Der Weg führt durch die Fussgängerzone und ist gut ausgeschildert. Dank der direkten Zugverbindungen nach Aarau ist das Museum bequem mit dem ÖV erreichbar. Buslinien aus der Region halten ebenfalls in unmittelbarer Nähe.

Parking

Für die Anreise mit dem Auto stehen in der Umgebung verschiedene Parkhäuser zur Verfügung, darunter das Parkhaus Kasinostrasse und das City-Märt-Parking. Von dort ist das Stadtmuseum in wenigen Minuten zu Fuss erreichbar. Die Altstadt ist verkehrsberuhigt; Besucherinnen und Besucher werden gebeten, die öffentlichen Parkmöglichkeiten am Rand der Altstadt zu nutzen.
