Impressive historic building that originally served as a residence for members of the Rohan family. Today, the Palais Rohan houses three important museums.
The Musée des Beaux-Arts (Museum of Fine Arts), the Musée Archéologique (Archäological Museum) and the Musée des Arts Décoratifs (Museum of Arts and Crafts) offer an impressive collection of works of art, archäological finds and decorative objects from different periods and cultures.
The Palais Rohan is distinguished by its impressive Baroque architecture, designed by the renowned architect Robert de Cotte. The building consists of three wings surrounding a charming courtyard. Each wing represents a different style: the east wing is designed in the French Baroque style, the middle wing in the Neoclassical style, and the west wing in the Alsatian style.
