Classified as a "Musée de France", the Dolder (1291) reveals Riquewihr as a fortified medieval town and its evolution from the 13th to the 17th century: its lords (the Württemberg family), its passive defences (fortifications, parapet walks, towers, gates) and active defences (weapons, bourgeois soldiers); the tower's occupants and their functions (gatekeepers, watchmen, night watchmen). From the top of the tower (25m), a fine view over the roofs of the city, towards the plain and the Black Forest.
