In 2007, the cellar, which apparently stood under the house of the coin master master Bruno and later Nicholas of the Tower, was made available to the public and three years later the renovated cellars of the New Town Hall were annexed to it. This created a very valuable cellar complex, equipped with expositions and installations in 2010 and opened up to the public as part of the project "Access to the Brno Underground".
The exhibition reminds the already almost forgotten craft mining coinage in Brno and Moravia. At the same time, it is a reminder of the historical development of this urban site from the Middle Ages to the present. Here is the development of the fish market, today's Dominican Square, the existence and extinction of the originally Gothic Royal Chapel which stood at the beginning of the 20th century at the bottom of the Dominican Square.
Due to the fact that the cellar complex is located in the premises of the New Town Hall, which is today the seat of the metropolitan city administration, the exhibition also serves an audiovisual presentation of the history and present of the statutory city of Brno.
Visit also other unique premises of the Brno Underground - Constance at St. Jakub, Labyrinth under the Green Market or Collectors and Cover 10-Z.
You can buy an online ticket at TIC Brno.
