Das Weilerer Kornhaus hat seit seiner Entstehungszeit im Jahre 1791 - bis zum heutigen Tage - einen bewegten Wandel in seiner Funktion vollzogen. Einst, als Versorgungsstelle für die Bevölkerung des Marktes, hat das Gebäude die Menschen vor physischer Not bewahrt. Heute ist das Kornhausmuseum eine wesentliche Bereicherung für das kulturelle und geistige Leben im Westallgäu. Sowohl Einheimische als auch Kurgäste finden in diesem kulturellen Zentrum einen Ort, um den manch andere Gemeinde Weiler beneidet.
Seit 1981 beherbergt es im Erdgeschoß eine Sammlung von Arbeitsgeräten der Bauern und Handwerker. Das Kornhaus ist nach seinem Umbau ein Haus der heimatlichen Kultur und Kunst geworden.
Im Jahr 2006 enstand anstelle eines früheren Abstellraumes das neue "forumKornhaus". Das "forumKornhaus" bietet je nach Veranstaltung 60 bis 80 Besuchern Platz. Vorträge, Konzerte, Filmvorführungen und Seminare sollen zukünftig den Saal Leben mit erfüllen.
