Forum Schlossplatz
1798 wurde Aarau zur provisorischen Hauptstadt der Helvetischen Republik bestimmt. Im Haus zum Schlossgarten tagte von März bis September 1798 die Regierung der neu gegründeten Republik. Nach seiner Funktion als erstem Regierungssitz der modernen Schweiz wurde das Haus wieder von Privatpersonen bewohnt. Seit 1994 dient die Villa kulturellen und repräsentativen Zwecken. Die Räume im Erdgeschoss stehen dem Forum Schlossplatz für Ausstellungen, die Remise im Garten für erweiterte Ausstellungsmöglichkeiten zur Verfügung.
