Einzigartig in Deutschland: In einer Dauerausstellung zur Biologie und Kulturgeschichte der Biene und zur Imkerei wird auch eine bedeutende Sammlung volkskünstlerisch gestalteter Bienenbeuten, sogenannter Figurenbeuten gezeigt. Zu sehen sind rund 1.500 Exponate, wie Dokumente, Bilder und Erinnerungsstücke, imkerliche Geräte und Bienenprodukte. Lohnenswert ist auch ein Gang über den Museumshof bis in den Bienenweidegarten. Hier sind unter anderem verschiedene belebte Schaubeuten, historische Beuten, ein Wanderwagen und ein Bienenhaus zu bewundern. Ein Nebenraum auf dem Hof beheimatet den einzigen erhaltenen Wachshammer aus dem Jahr 1637. Das bereits 1907 von Ferdinand Gerstung gegründete älteste Bienenmuseum Deutschlands bietet Interessantes für Erwachsene und Kinder. Hofladen, Café mit Biergarten, Märkte und Veranstaltungen runden das Angebot ab.
