Aksaray Museum, one of the most important museums of Aksaray, was first put into service in 1969, but opened its doors to visitors in 2006 in its current building.
The museum has three floors and has open and closed areas. The construction of the building where the museum is located was influenced by the fairy chimneys in Aksaray and the Anatolian Seljuk cumbet style. The museum also has other areas such as the administrative department, library and conference hall. The artifacts in the museum consist of many artifacts covering periods such as Neolithic, Chalcolithic, Hellenistic and Roman. There are more than 15 thousand artifacts in the museum.
