Trollstigen

Trollstigen is a serpentine road in Norway leading from Romsdalsfjord to Norddalsfjord. It runs over steep terrain, is pretty narrow and partly consists in only one track. In 2005 and 2006 parts of the road were refurbished. With its hairpin bends and the breathtaking surroundings – worth to mention are the mountains Bispen (1.450 m), Kongen (1.614 m) and Dronninga (1.701 m) – Trollstigen is considered one of Norway’s most spectacular spots. Due to weather conditions, the road is only open in summer timme, so you can only go there between mid-May and late September. Next to the road you will find an impressing waterfall called Stigfossens. Since 2012, Trollstigen is officially known as national tourist route.
