Klausenstrasse
Von Flüelen am Ufer des Vierwaldstätter Sees führt die Strasse nach Osten, durchquert Altdorf, Bürglen, Spiringen, Unterschächen, zieht einige Kurven und dann erreicht man die Passhöhe. Der Pass wird von den Postautos von Ende Juni bis Ende September befahren. Die Strasse wurde 1948 erbaut. Der höchste Punkt erweist eine Höhe von 1958 m, von wo man einen prachtvollen Rundblick ins Urner Land geniesst.
Kurios ist das: Manche Kantone haben eine ordentlich geschlossene Form, andere stecken ihre Zipfel weit in nachbarliches Gebiet. Zu ihnen gehört Uri: Der Urnerboden, dessen Wasser doch der Glarner Linth zuströmt, gehört bis zum Scheidbächli hinab den Urnern. Er ist ein fast 8 km langer Wiesenplan, die grösste Alp unseres Landes. Fast tausend Stück Grossvieh gibt er Nahrung in Fülle.
