Das Auener Joch befindet sich auf dem Höhenzug des Tschöggelbergs, der sich zwischen Meran und Bozen erstreckt. Es liegt unweit der bekannten Stoanernen Mandl´n, einer Schar von mystischen "steinernen Männern" und Türmchen aus übereinanderliegenden Steinplatten.
