Der Struwwelpeter nach Zeichnungen des Frankfurt Karikaturisten F. K. Waechter.

Dieses Objekt der Komischen Kunst von F.K. Waechter steht seit Juni 2006 in den Schwanheimer Wiesen. Es ist eine Kopfweide, die eine erstaunliche Verwandlung in einen Struwwelpeter-Baum erfahren hat. Das Besondere: in der Dämmerung beginnen die Augen zu leuchten; das hält eine Weile an.

1970 zeichnete Waechter erstmals seinen "Antistruwwelpeter". Dessen Vorgänger und somit der allererste Struwwelpeter - das Original - stammt von dem Frankfurter Arzt Heinrich Hoffmann. Das Buch veröffentlichte er erstmals im Jahr 1844, eine Übersetzung ins Englische fertigte Mark Twain an.

Bitte nicht wundern: Alle paar Jahre schaut im Winter der Friseur vorbei und beraubt den Struwwelpeter seiner so wichtigen Haarpracht. Das muss sein, um ihn langfristig zu erhalten - die "Haare" werden sonst zu schwer. Doch keine Sorge: sie wachsen immer schnell nach! Alle Objekte der Komischen Kunst am GrünGürtel-Rundwanderweg werden in einer Kooperation zwischen dem städtischen Umweltamt und dem Caricatura Museum Frankfurt umgesetzt.
