Klassizistischer Triumphbogen in der Münchner Innenstadt
Das Münchner Siegestor bildet den Übergang von der Ludwig- zur Leopoldstraße. Das klassizistische Bauwerk wurde Mitte des 19. Jahrhunderts nach den Plänen des bekannten Architekts Friedrich von Gärtner errichtet. Zusammen mit der Feldherrnhalle am Odeonsplatz steht das Siegestor für den Triumph über Napoleon I. Dieses Ereignis markierte das Ende der zeitweiligen Schreckensherrschaft über Europa, die auch das damalige Königreich Bayern betraf.
Public transport
U6 bis zur Haltestelle Universität oder Giselastraße. Das Siegestor befindet sich auf halbem Weg zwischen beiden Stationen. Eine Anreise mit dem Bus ist ebenfalls möglich, Haltestelle Georgenstraße.
