In the locality of Sibaud stands a stone memorial erected in 1889 to commemorate a dramatic moment in the Waldensian story of the 17th century: the so-called "Glorious Repatriation" of 1689. After years of exile in Switzerland, with a long march later called the "Repatriation," the Waldensians returned to their lands; but upon reaching Bobbio Pellice, many members of the expedition considered the purpose of the long march achieved and began to disperse. Henri Arnaud, as pastor and chaplain, intervened on authority and rallied the troops, pointing out that only with a united effort could they resist. He was able to commit soldiers and officers to an oath of mutual loyalty and resume the enterprise.
